Design wall Monday

I am back after one whole month away from home
This year has brought some wonderful times and also some very trying times
After loosing both my parents within 5 months I took a much needed trip to visit with my youngest sister in San Clemente, LA
I had the most amazing time.
Today I revisited a PhD (project half done) and finished all 80 blocks
This is on my design board

Quilting weekend

This weekend the Midlands Quilters Guild

 had a display of quilts on show at the Garden Show

Bargello

What a busy week I have had so far

Tuesday was a public holiday and I spent it with 3 ladies sewing all day

I have stitched all my strips and sub cut them for the Bargello

Three strips have been stitched together and I am already seeing the rise and fall of the design

I have also finished a customers top and loaded the next one

 

Quilting is such fun!

On the Needles

 On the needles this Friday. I am knitting a bag

and so enjoy doing the cables

 

There is a wedding happening soon and

this lace number is absolutely gorgeous

Wednesday sewing

Today has been very full and busy

I finally got to making the apron to replace my old working one

I also had 2 ladies come and sew AND celebrate an ENGAGEMENT!!!

 

I  made some progress on my Bargello

Lots and lots of sewing and ironing

I am off to a guild meeting tomorrow

I am one of the vendors

A year and then some

I see that it has been more than a year since I have blogged.

So much has happened, some sad, some exhausting, some exciting and so much happiness

I have also been quilting up a storm.

To date more than 85 customer's tops.

I am loving my "Lucey"

and hope to show you many quilted tops.

Life is wonderful and exciting and here's to sharing many happy times with you.

A long time ago.......

It seems like ages ago when I was waiting for my "Lucey"

APQS machine to arrive

So much has happened since then and I have quilted many quilts

It has been the best purchase I have made and I am so enjoying what I do.

Every single day!!

DELAYED!

We are currently experiencing a "Truckers Strike" 

which means that my machine is stuck in a warehouse.

I am so grateful that I did not dismantle my Voyager 

and so I can still quilt customers orders.

I am hoping to get the delivery tomorrow 

but that hardly seems likely.

Parcel arriving

I am super excited!!

 I have been notified that my super duper new quilting machine arrives today.

I am in the process of rearranging the Studio

and will have to make space for the bigger machine

Busy time

Life has been super hectic since the retreat.

I have Youngest Daughter home for a 10 day Holiday

And lots of catching up to do

I will not be working on the retreat top until I stop quilting for others which will end in November.

I have ordered as Lucey APQS machine which should be arriving within the next 2 weeks

I am super excited about that and I am also in the process of selling my Voyager which I have used since 2008.

Tomorrow is a busy day with a trip to Durban so that the Youngest Daughter can return to Varsity

and I am helping to set up a stand at our local Garden Show in the afternoon after I have visited 2 Fabric shops in the Durban area.

I am off to Cape Town on Thursday for the long weekend so will only get to my work on Wednesday morning with a class on Tuesday morning first and then Sewing Ladies in the afternoon.

I hope to have some photos to show for Design wall Monday

As you can see there is lots going on in my life and I am living it to the full

One quarter of the top done

I am pleased but still need to make many more blocks

Catching up

After a slow start I did manage to complete 5 blocks on my "Just take 2" top

That's real progress as some days I hardly manage one!

The Tuesday Quilters met this afternoon

Two of us are going on a retreat this weekend and we sorted our fabrics for the classes we will be taking.

I have mine already cut and packed and I am looking forward to a sewing filled weekend

Quilter Attack

I have come to a major decision:

No more quilts until I am all caught up!

I am participating in the "Just take 2" challenge and I am horribly behind

About block 29 of 66. Wow I have a lot of catching up to do!

I have completed one quarter of the top only.

I do have a picture which will follow soon

WW Knitting Day

Today was World Wide Knitting Day

I joined a group at MACS

We sat out on the pavement knitting

I started a pair of socks and

 succumbed to the purchase of some hand-dyed yarn

Tuesdays sewing

Ladies group met today.

 We did not do any sewing but discussed our next project which will be:

 Table Runners

My home is really needing some and I hope to make a variety.

I have started one and it is quite complicated in the construction,

 but the effect is

  wonderful
