DELAYED!

We are currently experiencing a "Truckers Strike"
which means that my machine is stuck in a warehouse.
I am so grateful that I did not dismantle my Voyager
and so I can still quilt customers orders.
I am hoping to get the delivery tomorrow
but that hardly seems likely.
Watch this space!

Busy time

Life has been super hectic since the retreat.
I have Youngest Daughter home for a 10 day Holiday
And lots of catching up to do
I will not be working on the retreat top until I stop quilting for others which will end in November.
I have ordered as Lucey APQS machine which should be arriving within the next 2 weeks
I am super excited about that and I am also in the process of selling my Voyager which I have used since 2008.
Tomorrow is a busy day with a trip to Durban so that the Youngest Daughter can return to Varsity
and I am helping to set up a stand at our local Garden Show in the afternoon after I have visited 2 Fabric shops in the Durban area.
I am off to Cape Town on Thursday for the long weekend so will only get to my work on Wednesday morning with a class on Tuesday morning first and then Sewing Ladies in the afternoon.
I hope to have some photos to show for Design wall Monday
As you can see there is lots going on in my life and I am living it to the full
Happy sewing

After a slow start I did manage to complete 5 blocks on my "Just take 2" top
That's real progress as some days I hardly manage one!
The Tuesday Quilters met this afternoon
Two of us are going on a retreat this weekend and we sorted our fabrics for the classes we will be taking.
I have mine already cut and packed and I am looking forward to a sewing filled weekend

Quilter Attack

I have come to a major decision:
No more quilts until I am all caught up!
I am participating in the "Just take 2" challenge and I am horribly behind
About block 29 of 66. Wow I have a lot of catching up to do!
I have completed one quarter of the top only.
I do have a picture which will follow soon
Wish me luck!!

Lets try again!!

I cannot believe that it is already June 2012
This year has flown past
I have been very busy in the Studio and have had many challenges this year.
Our local city has an annual show.
I submitted a few quilts which were judged and did manage to get 2 3rd prizes.
The ladies group who we now have christened "The Tuesday Quilters" entered a group quilt and we got a FIRST. we are all so thrilled!
Group quilt
The next show will take place in Hillcrest at Highbury school (29 June) and the theme is "Re-use Recycle and Revamp" (RR&R).
I have made 3 quilt using Husbands shirts .
One for each daughter and will submit these.
It will be a non judged show.
the first of  3 similar quilts
Well that's all for now
I hope to keep up with blogging..........don't know if that will happen.........we will see
Happy sewing

Progress report

This week saw the finish of two cushions to match a quilt made
for my daughters friend whose baby is due late in January.

I also made an apron to protect my clothing whilst sewing
after I cleaned out the bobbin case on my longarm
and then fixed my blouse only to leave a nice grease mark on it.
When I put it on it makes me smile
and I feel like I am really working!!
Until next time
Happy quilting

Design wall 2 January 2012

At the moment the design wall has on it the completed top of my Christmas 2012 Mystery.
I have already started quilting the first customers top of 2012.
And I am almost done!!

I will be starting a new group quilt with my sewing ladies.
I have lots of applique bits to trace.
This is my holiday homework!!

Look at Patchworktimes for other Design wall Mondays.

UFO Challenge 2012

Although I did not keep a list last year of my UFO'S I will do so this year.
Judy of Patchworktimes has issued this challenge and here is my list for 2012:

1. Purple Passion
2. Whirly Windmills
3. Spring has Sprung
4. Shweshwe Bow ties
5.Black and white applique rose
6. 2011 Christmas Mystery.

I did not take on any quilting for the month of December.
So I did manage to quilt 8 of my UFO's which had
accumulated during the 2011 year.
Having only 6 UFO's for 2012 will allow me to make more tops!!

Have a wonderful 2012
Susan
